U.S. Physical Therapy, Inc. ("USPh"), which was founded in 1990, is a publicly held company which operates 700+ outpatient physical and/or occupational therapy clinics in 44 states. U.S. Physical Therapy is one of the largest publicly traded, pure-play operators of outpatient physical and occupational therapy clinics. The clinics provide pre and post-operative care for a variety of orthopedic-related disorders and sports-related injuries, rehabilitation of injured workers, and preventative care. USPh also manages physical therapy facilities for third parties, including physician groups and hospitals. Each of USPh’s clinics are directed by a licensed physical therapist who drive patient volume via local physicians, former patients, and other referral sources.

 

It is an exhilarating time of growth for USPh, and we are currently hiring a Patient Account Representative with a strong technical ability, and business acumen to join our expanding Houston team.Your role will be critical in our billing and claims department and asked to facilitate procedural requirements including data elements, insurance verification, authorization for services, and collections for all patient portions including prior balances.

 

 

Responsibilities:

Work closely with patients to resolve billing and payment issuesResearch and resolve discrepancies on patient accountsProcess payments and refundsReview and update patient insurance informationCommunicate with insurance companies to obtain prior authorizations and verify coverageFollow up on unpaid claims and denialsMaintain accurate and up-to-date patient account informationProvide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providersCollaborate with other departments to improve processes and ensure timely reimbursementMaintain knowledge of current insurance regulations and coding requirements

 

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred1-2 years of experience in medical billing and collectionsKnowledge of medical billing and coding, insurance regulations, and healthcare reimbursement policiesStrong attention to detail and ability to work independentlyExcellent communication and customer service skillsProficient in Microsoft Office, Waystar, Japari and other computer programs
