The Patient Advocate is responsible for serving in a role to effectively integrate hospital policy, quality improvement, and patient care issues in all sectors of the organization to improve patient satisfaction and to respond to patient concerns and grievances per CMS regulations.

Employment Qualifications

Professional level of Healthcare knowledge, which is equivalent to completion of a Bachelor’s in nursing preferred, or Bachelor’s degree (BA) in other Healthcare related fields such as Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or equivalent and relevant work experience.Work experience assessing and assisting in the resolution of customer relations using interpersonal, oral and/or written skills with a variety of populations required.Requires skills in critical and technical reading, as well as the ability to write case notes, progress reports, and action plans and accurately document conversations and actions.Possess the capacity to innovate and improvise in achieving effective solutions.Requires experience with using interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills serving a variety of cultures and socioeconomic strata.Requires experience in the utilization of skills specifically related to developing a rapport with patients, families and the Care Team as a vital foundation in problem solving and conflict management/resolution.Requires demonstrated basic computer literacy and the ability to learn and utilize additional software and program applications germane to a hospital environment.Demonstrates an aptitude in the following areas: de-escalation, crisis management, conflict resolution, arbitration, reflective listening, reframing and restructuring, accurately assessing issues and creating relevant solutions to problems.Many of our opportunities reward* your hard work with:
