Participates in delivery of orthopedic care by coordinating clinical appointments with providers for patients, referring physicians and facilities.
Essential Functions
• Provide excellent customer service through all interactions such as scheduling contact for clinic appointments.
• Respond effectively and promptly to all patient, provider and team member requests.
• Provides accurate and courteous information regarding our clinic and physicians to all callers.
• Obtain accurate demographic and insurance information necessary to schedule appointments.
• Maintain/Update patient information and working knowledge of insurance protocols.
• Knowledge of physician preferences and schedules.
• Completes computerized patient scheduling collection of comprehensive demographic and insurance information required to facilitate timely and accurate bill of services, obtainment of precertification authorization and benefit information necessary for payment.
• Responsible for effectively screening /identifying customer requirements and taking appropriate action based on information.
• Ability to transition from inbound and outbound call services depending on volume and assignment.
• Complete other duties as assigned or identified based on patient needs.
• Ability to adhere to quality and productivity standards.
Knowledge/Skills Abilities Required
• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge of EHR system.
• 1-3 years customer service or healthcare experience.
• Knowledge of standardized scheduling, canceling, rescheduling, attendance procedures.
• Familiar with a variety of healthcare concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Type at least 50 WPM.
• Possess knowledge of PC applications (Outlook, Windows, VDI), healthcare applications and phone systems.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Some medical terminology knowledge helpful.
• Attention to detail a requirement.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Ability to work well with others in a team driven environment
Pay Information: $18 to $20/hour
