array of services throughout the region caring for patients from birth through the end of lifeDuties The Patient Care Administrative Nurse Supervisor is an experienced Registered Nurse and is responsible for supervising and monitoring the Nursing departments on an assigned shift in accordance with nursing standards and practices as well as current Federal State and local standards guidelines and regulationsThis position ensures the appropriate delivery of direct and indirect patient care via the utilization of the Nursing Process and creates a positive environment for the professional practice of nursingIn addition this position ensures activities foster continuous quality improvement to enhance patient care outcomes This position also ensures patient flow throughout dateExperiencebull years of acute care charge or supervisory experience requiredbull Critical care or emergency department nursing experience may be required in acute care environmentsbull Progressive leadership experienceLicensure Certification Registrationbull Active Registered Nurse license from the State of Connecticut requiredmiddot Certified in Basic Life Support BLS provider credentialed form the American Heart Association AHAmiddot Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS provider credentialed form the American Heart Association AHA required for acute hospitals and preferred for BHN locationsbull Other certifications may be required by specialtyKnowledge Skills and Ability Requirements bull Broad knowledge of nursing standards and practices bull Knowledge of principles and practices of nursing and healthcare administrationbull Considerable knowledge of requirements by federal state or regulatory bodiesbull Knowledge of all relevant policies and proceduresbull Demonstrates knowledge of effective workforce utilizationbull Strong ability to coordinate plan and direct multi faceted operationbull Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments employees physicians managers other agencies and the publicbull Ability to work collaboratively with all departmentsbull Ability to handle multiple priorities bull Demonstrated management and leadership skillsbull Requires the ability to take the appropriate action in response to changes circumstances or problemsbull Strong ability to exercise discretion and use good judgmentbull Strong ability to problem solve and make decisions in a fast paced environment and in emergency situationsbull Excellent communication skills both verbal and written bull Critical thinking analytical
