Patient Care Assistant -PT- American Fork

Position Summary: We are looking for a wonderful team member with attention to detail, who enjoys working with other people and communicates effectively to all age groups. Candidates should have prior medical experience, be familiar with technology and be comfortable with providing excellent customer service to our providers, your coworkers and our patients. We will provide the necessary training and tools to be a successful team member.

 

Essential Job Functions: 

Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit, reconciling medication lists. Prepares patients for examinations Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records. Begins patient's notes prior to the office visit. Records the office visits via electronic templates on behalf or physician. Responsible for ensuring thoroughness of medical documentation. Triages phone messages from patients. Reviews messages with physicians and responds as directed in a prompt and courteous manner. Answers questions as appropriate. Answers phones, schedules appointments, posts copays and other front office duties as needed. Works with insurance companies, pharmacies as needed for prior authorizations. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations. Keeps exam rooms clean and patient ready. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, noting when supplies are needed. Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance. Serves and protects the medical practice by adhering to clinic and professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements. Maintains CPR certification. Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: 

Must have experience or certification as Medical Assistant or CNA and CPR certification (or completed within 4 months of hiring). Working knowledge of medical terminology. Must be proficient on computers. Knowledge of ICD10 and PT preferred. A working knowledge of electronic medical records preferred. Ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, push and/or carry up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally is required. Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time. Demonstrate excellent computer, telephone and communication skills. Outstanding customer service, organization and attention to detail. Must be a self-starter, a team player, dependable, friendly and professional and be able to multi-task and work efficiently while remaining calm and productive.

 

Hours: Tuesday/ Thursday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
