About the Role: Our Patient Care Associates play a vital role in ensuring a seamless patient experience. PCAs are the heart of our patient experience. They manage a high volume of calls, provide accurate information, and assist patients with their healthcare needs. Key Responsibilities: As a PCA - Call Center, your responsibilities will include: + Answering Phone Calls:Handle incoming calls from patients, providers, and other stakeholders, providing information and assistance as needed. + Scheduling Appointments:Schedule and reschedule patient appointments, ensuring timely and efficient scheduling. + Patient Registration:Register new and returning patients, collecting and verifying demographic and insurance information. + Message Taking:Take accurate messages and route them to appropriate staff members. + Data Entry:Input patient information into the electronic health record (EHR) system. + Problem-Solving:Troubleshoot patient issues and concerns, escalating issues as needed. + Communication:Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and other stakeholders. + Compliance:Adhere to HIPAA regulations and other relevant compliance standards. Work Schedule: This is a full-time and hybrid position with evening hours. Qualifications Education, Experience + High school diploma or equivalent required + Experience in a medical service environment, specifically with front desk activities preferred + Knowledge of Federal & NY State patient privacy regulations/laws a plus Desired Characteristics, Skills + Experience working with diverse populations including the LGBT community + Excellent attention to detail + Strong customer service skills + Ability to remain calm, focused, and helpful under stress + Ability to multi-task + Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred + Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives + Commitment to the mission of Callen-Lorde
