Team Impact

In this position, you will be an important member of the patient care team under the direction of a Registered Nurse. As part of the patient care team, the PCA ensures a safe environment for patients, visitors, and coworkers, as well as appropriate utilization of resources. The PCA ensures the comfort and first level of care for patients.

The patient care team identifies desired outcomes for each patient based on assessment data, and plan of care and completes ongoing assessments to facilitative achievement of desired outcomes. Some highlights about this opportunity include:

Responsibilities

Perform all aspects of first-level patient care including promoting hygiene and mobilityMeasure and record patients’ vitals such as temperature and blood pressureResponds to patient/family needs and requestsMay assist and support physicians/nurses during routine procedures and treatmentsReport all observations, changes in patient condition to responsible RN for timely, appropriate evaluation and responsePrepare hospital roomsChange patients’ bed sheets, pillows and turning or repositioning patients in their bedsDelivers meals to patients and assist with feedingHelp patients dress and/or assist with toileting needsBathe patientsListen to patients’ concerns, record them and report them to a nurse Patient companion when needed
