Job Title: Medical Scheduler

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Scheduler to manage a high volume of incoming calls and requests of both clinical and non-clinical nature. This role is vital in providing exceptional customer service while aiming for a one-call resolution standard.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and assess a large volume of incoming calls and requests efficiently.Schedule a variety of appointments, including but not limited to physical exams, office visits, consultations, hospital follow-ups, and CDL examinations for over 100 multi-specialty physicians and other medical professionals.Utilize all available resources to assist callers effectively and efficiently.Transfer or warm-transfer calls to other departments or staff members as required.Collect and relay all relevant information for requests to clinical staff members promptly.Respond to emergencies following established procedures.Utilize NextGen medical software and Microsoft Outlook on a daily basis.

Essential Skills

Proven customer service experience, ideally in a call center or healthcare receptionist role.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Previous experience in healthcare settings, such as call centers, medical records, or customer service, is highly preferred.Familiarity with outbound call handling, appointment scheduling, and managing multi-line phone systems.

Additional Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.A minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare.

Work Environment

This position is based in Poughkeepsie and requires availability from Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with a Saturday rotation (approximately one Saturday every 4-6 weeks from 8 AM to 5 PM). Employees may choose to work a continuous shift or take a day off midweek, such as Wednesday. The role includes a 30-minute lunch break and demands the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00
