Position Summary:
Patient Care Coordinator-Authorizations, Full time weekday positions with Holy Cross Medical Group in Ft Lauderdale, Florida

Position Purpose:
Patient Care Coordinator- Authorization Agent has many roles in their position. They work closely with insurance companies and specialists to process all Referral Authorizations. They work efficiently throughout the day while multitasking and taking initiative., while working within HCMG/hospital policies and procedures. This position is required to work on site at Holy Cross Hospital in the Centralized Authorizations Dept for the six-month probationary period. Ability to work remote after that upon satisfactory performance evaluation.

What you will do:

Obtain necessary HMO/PPO referral authorizations for referrals received from
  other physicians.Obtain authorization from insurance plan for referrals to Specialists, as
  directed by our Primary Care Physician.Answer phone calls in a prompt, courteous and efficient manner.

What you will need:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.Experience: Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT & ICD-9 codes and all insurances
  requiredExcellent communication and customer servicePrevious experience in medical office setting preferredStrong experience with obtaining and processing Referrals and Authorizations.Excellent computer skills including typing dictations, PowerPoint, Excel and
  Word
