Summary:
Functions as a patient advocate and liaison with the healthcare team.
Ensures regulatory compliance as it pertains to patient rights and problem resolution.
Position Responsibilities:
• Problem Resolution/follow-up: Investigate and resolve complaint/grievance and provide appropriate follow-up to patient/designated support team and staff.
• Patient Advocate: Assures patient rights, privacy, cultural needs and spiritual needs are respected.
• Healthcare team liaison: Works as a liaison with patient/designated support team and staff to maintain open lines of communication and assure understanding of plan of care.
• Regulatory compliance: Ensuring regulatory compliance for ADA, CMS, LEP, HIPPA and the Joint Commission and maintaining appropriate documentation.
Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:
Minimum of two years healthcare experience.
Must have knowledge of hospital policies and procedures, community resources and legal aspects of healthcare.
Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to provide conflict resolution.
Required Education:
Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
