Patient Care Nurse Assistant-Adult Medicine Day/Night

Today, through our state-of-the-art Level One Trauma Center, cutting-edge specialty care units, and dedicated caregivers, the system is working at the forefront of medicine to address the overall needs of our patients and eliminate healthcare disparities. **_All Acute Care Adult Specialty units offer enhanced technology to assist with nursing care, including patient lifts, hands-free communication, virtual whiteboards, and telemetry monitoring capability._** **Join our Acute Care Adult Medical/Post-Surgical Unit, PIP!** _Primary Patient Population:_ + Medical + Post-Surgical + Trauma- Level 3 Trauma Center _Primary skills utilized/learned:_ + Assisting patients with all aspects of personal hygiene, eating & drinking + Lifting, turning, positioning, and transferring patients, including utilizing mechanical devices (i.e., transfer boards, Hoyer lifts, Sara lifts, etc.) as needed. + Taking vital signs (i.e. temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and other parameters as instructed). _Personnel RN will work with_ _:_ + LPNs, Registered Nurses, Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, Speech Therapy _Number of beds on unit:_ + 15 beds plus 1 Trauma bed as needed _Awards or Recognitions the unit has received:_ + Staff Quote “ _Everybody loves Parma, it’s a little slice of Heaven in the MetroHealth world.”_ **MetroHealth offers industry-leading benefits, including tuition reimbursement, student loan repayment, professional certification incentives, and medical/dental insurance. As a public employer, employees participate in the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS).** Required Qualifications: + High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. + Ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and effectively problem-solving skills. + Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire. Preferred Qualifications: + Registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry (NOTE: Maintaining ODH Registry status as a STNA is optional after employment in this position). + 1 year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital.
