Schedule Details: Work either 6am - 6:30pm or 6pm - 6:30am pool position to cover. and Must have an RN license 

 

What You Will Do: As the Patient Care Operations Coordinator, you provide coordination and planning of patient throughput activities, has the knowledge and skills of a nursing generalist who routinely demonstrates skills in critical thinking and problem-solving. You will need to efficiently manage the patient cue to ensure timely bed assignments for patients; follows algorithms to prioritize the list of patients in the cue and places the patients into the appropriate unit locations; and mitigate issues related to patient throughput.   Responsibilities Include:  Understands electronic medical record (EMR) work flows for the bed manager and utilizes the EMR to find and assign a bed efficiently. Reviews and provides input to updating patient placement guidelines and processes as needed. In partnership with nursing leadership/charge nurses, determine shift staffing strategies and make decisions based on the assessment of the hospital division. Collaborates with Surgeons/Anesthesiologists to coordinate and shift surgical cases as needed based on patient acuity.  Collaborate with outpatient nursing departments to deploy patient resources required i.e. CVD, EEG, etc… Provides patient care clinical support as needed (i.e. IV starts, patient transportation, assist with procedures, verify medication administration/wasting, etc…) Responds to all code situations.  Ensures immediate follow-up through debriefings and coordinating of appropriate resources.  Deploys the Rapid Response team, Ethics team and utilizes physician chain of command when appropriate. At the end of each shift provides constructive feedback to nursing leadership regarding staff performance or unit related operations. Compliant with all applicable hospital and department-specific patient safety and quality goals; provides leadership in performance improvement relative to these goals as assigned. Assist/aid in planning and implementing policies and procedures and interprets them to others in order to assure that policies and procedures are complied with. Participate in Hospital/Nursing division leadership meetings as assigned.

You Will Need:

Bachelors Degree in Nursing WI RN Licensure BLS Certification (AHA) ACLS and PALS Certifications preferred
