JOB DUTIES **1. Actively** demonstrates the organization’s mission and core values, and conducts oneself at all times in a manner consistent with these values. **2. Knows** and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety and medical information. **3. Provides** direct patient care according to age specific guidelines and established policies and procedures **4. C** **ommunicates** patient related data and requests to appropriate team members. **5. Assists** in meeting the patient’s nutritional needs. **6. Assists** with ambulation to including walkers, canes, prostheses, etc. **7. Maintains** a safe environment by adhering to Hospital policies and procedures for isolation techniques, use of restraints, and falls prevention. Reports any unsafe condition to the appropriate personnel. **8. Documents** and reports care delivered per policy. **9. Performs** other related duties as assigned or as workload or staffing variations require. **JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES** **Education:** The level of knowledge ordinarily acquired through the completion of high school level courses. Ability to read, write, and spell English and perform simple arithmetic calculations. **Licensure:** CNA license preferred. CPR certification on hire or able to attain within 60 days. **Experience:** Experience in patient care preferred. **Other Job Requirements:** Ability to respond with flexible and changing workload of patient assignments. Ability to perform as a team member, supporting a patient focused environment in all interactions with patients, families, visitors and volunteers. Knowledge of basic nursing practices. Knowledge of principles of body mechanics. Knowledge of methods of maintaining a safe, working environment.
