Patient Care Supervisor - Cardiac Rehabilitation

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.

2. Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-

3. Shall demonstrate leadership and commitment with respect to the quality management system by:

(a) promoting the use of the process approach and risk-based thinking.

(b) engaging, directing, and supporting persons to contribute to the effectiveness of the quality management system

requirements;

(c) promoting improvement

4. Develops and implements policies and procedures for Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Phases, evaluates and

updates policies and procedures annually in coordination with the Director of Rehabilitation

5. Develops, supervises and/or provides exercise programs to patients in Phase I, II, III and IV programs.

6. Assesses clinical and cardiac/pulmonary status of patients, in conjunction with other appropriate staff, and reviews it

with medical Director. Determines contraindications to exercise. Continues to consult with physician throughout

exercise program.

7. Ensures that the appropriate records of patient status and progress are maintained during Cardiac Rehab Phase I, II, III

and IV programs and Pulmonary Rehab programs.

8. Possesses knowledge of monitoring equipment and EKG interpretation/Telemetry.

9. Conducts annual and orientation evaluations on all staff members.

10. Required to provide exercise instruction and education for adult and geriatric in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation

and wellness populations.

11. Oversees and manages the departments performance improvement activities in coordination with the Director of

Rehabilitation.

12. Effectively manages patient crises and emergency situations.

13. Responsible for producing statistical and Quality Review reports for the department.

14. Contributes to the overall performance of the department through the precepting of novice employees.

15. Contributes to the department grown and performance through hospital-system initiatives cultivating nursing involved

Evidence Based Practices.

16. Demonstrates continued professional growth through setting goals and participating in educational offerings.

17. Shall demonstrate leadership and commitment with respect to the quality management system by: a) promoting the use

of the process approach and risk-based thinking; b) engaging, directing and supporting persons to contribute to the

effectiveness of the quality management system requirements; and c) promoting improvement.

18. All other duties as assigned by Director of Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.

 

Qualifications/Training

· 2 years experience in Cardiac Rehabilitation.


Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education

· Must possess a valid SC license- RN, RT, BLS, ACLS
