Patient Care Supervisor - Surgical and Neuro ICU
Overview M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center, located on the East Bank of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, is looking for a dedicated Patient Care Supervisor to help lead the Surgical/Neuro Intensive Care Unit! The PCS is responsible for assisting the Manager/Director with department operations. This includes supervision of personnel and projects as delegated. Check out more of our benefits information here: www.fairview.org/noncontract Responsibilities Job Description Partners with Manager/Director to supervise day-to-day or shift-to-shift operations to ensure support of the mission, vision, values and goals of the organization. Assists to plan, lead, coordinate and evaluate patient care activities including staffing, resource management, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and financial management. Prioritizes assignments to assure timely, productive, and efficient use of resources. Assists NM to handle equipment inventory and supply management within the operational budget. Collaborates with Nursing, Provider leadership, and other partners to implement and evaluate standards of practice. Collects and analyzes quality data and uses process improvement methodology to ensure delivery of safe and quality patient care. Assists with department change and acts as a change agent in procedure and process changes. Demonstrates skills/abilities in the provision of patient care. Ensures unit protocols, benchmarks, and hospital procedures are initiated appropriately. Compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Advocates for patient, family and staff needs. Assists Manager/Director to develop, implement, supervise and evaluate the quality improvement initiatives. Assists with human resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations. Qualifications Required Education Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. If Master’s degree is in nursing or healthcare, Bachelor’s degree in other area of study will be accepted. Experience Two years nursing experience, at least one of which in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role. Knowledge of patient population served in area of responsibility. License/Certification/Registration Licensed Registered Nurse. Ability to obtain Minnesota nursing license at time of hire. BLS certification Preferred Education Master’s degree in nursing, health care administration, business administration or related field.
