Patient Care Tech - Surgical Unit - Days
Departmental Overview Compensation / Benefits $13.21-$21.58/hr depending on previous work experience. Evening differential $1.50/hr. Night differential $1.75/hr. Weekend differential $1.75/hr. The ideal candidate for our Surgical Unit thrives in fast-paced environment, has a strong willingness to learn, understands how to deliver safe and effective & compassionate clinical care along side a team. Our unit has thirty two beds. We take care of patients with both surgical and nonsurgical conditions, we care for patients through the nursing process of assessment planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Furthermore, our team nurses & patient care techs collaborate with other healthcare professionals for best possible treatment of our patients. Job Summary Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment. Qualifications Education High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Completion of a recognized patient care training program or one clinical semester of nursing school preferred. Experience Required to be at least 18 years of age. Applicants must have a minimum of six (6) months of experience in a healthcare setting. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for this requirement. (The above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience). Licensure / Certification Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment. Current Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) certification preferred. Training and competencies specific to a department may be required to be maintained during employment. Schedule 6:30am-7pm Work Shift Day Position Type Regular Full Time
