Previous patient care experience required.

Schedule: Rotating days and nights, 20 hours per week (flexible options: two 8-hour shifts and one 4-hour shift, or one 12-hour shift and one 8-hour shift).

Title and salary will be determined based upon education and experience.

Responsibilities:

Provides patient care, assists with procedures and daily activities, physical, respiratory, and cardiopulmonary therapies, and reports changes to the RN. Performs core nursing assistant tasks (blood glucose, weights, vital signs, I&O, specimen collections, Foley care) and at least four additional tasks (phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG, simple dressing, Foley catheter removal, point of care testing, bladder scan, straight catheter, IV catheter removal). Reports equipment malfunctions, communicates effectively with other departments, and maintains professional relationships. Contributes to unit activities (responding to call lights, telephones, passing meal trays, transporting patients). Receives feedback, identifies learning needs, improves skills, and participates in self-review. Provides patient and family instruction under RN direction, applies/removes restraints per protocol. Communicates clearly with the healthcare team, understands cultural diversity, supports workplace safety, and maintains productive relationships. Adheres to patient care policies, complies with safety procedures, and documents in medical records. Suggests and supports departmental changes, assumes responsibility, and supports projects and quality initiatives. Performs core nursing assistant responsibilities (ADLs, point of care testing, weights, vital signs, I&O, telemetry monitor application, HAC & PSI prevention, simple dressings, restraints, bladder scan, specimen collections, ticket to ride). Achieves and maintains competency in advanced skills (phlebotomy/venipuncture, peripheral IV removal, Foley catheter removal, basic arrhythmia, 12-lead EKG, NG tubes clamping/removal).
