Join the UPMC team and make a difference today!** **Responsibilities:** + Assist with patient care & daily activities. + Perform core nursing assistant duties (e.g., blood glucose monitoring, vital signs, specimen collection, Foley care) + Monitor patient status and report changes to the RN. + Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and other departments. + Assist with patient restraints and provide instruction to patients and families under RN direction. + Support unit activities, including call light response, meal tray delivery, and patient transport. + Maintain safety and adhere to hospital policies and procedures. + Document patient care in medical records and perform clerical duties as needed. + Engage in department projects and quality initiatives. + Strong work ethic, team player, positive outlook, loves to learn, strong customer service skills strongly preferred + High school diploma or equivalent. + One of the following:a) 1 year of general healthcare experienceb) 6 months as UPMC Nursing Assistant/CNA with PCT competency within 120 daysc) Enrollment in PT/OT/PA or related healthcare program with at least one clinical rotation completedd) Bachelor’s degree in a health sciences field. + Successful completion of UPMC Patient Care Technician class. + Effective oral and written communication skills. + Limited access to medications for nurse distribution. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: + Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 30 days of hire (AHA standards). + ACLS preferred. + Act 33, Act 34, with renewals. **UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran**
