Patient Care Technician
Job Summary Responsible for providing nursing care to patients under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse. Perform routine direct patient care activities following established policies and procedures in a manner conducive to the safety and comfort of the patient. Perform observations of patients and reports changes in patient condition to the registered nurse. Perform specific skills including phlebotomy and point of care testing (POCT). Assist in all aspects of daily living activities for the patients, including, but not limited to general hygiene of the patient, changings, light housekeeping, and patient vitals. Available Units: 4 North - Med-Surg/Telemetry Unit: The 4N Med-Surg/Telemetry Unit is located on the fourth floor of the North Tower building. This is a 19-bed unit with capabilities for telemetry cardiac monitoring. The most frequent diagnoses for the medical patients are cardiovascular conditions, respiratory conditions, diabetes, and infectious processes. The surgical patients represent a variety of specialties including, but not limited to, general surgery, urology surgery and orthopedic surgery. Experience Prior direct patient care experience preferred, but not required for employment.
