GENERAL DUTIES
Patient Care:
•    Assists the nurse in the collection of data used for assessment of patients' conditions as assigned, including vital signs, weights, blood glucose monitoring, I&O, etc.
•    Assists with the patient's hygiene, nutrition, and personal care needs.
•    Completes documentation of patient-related tasks.
People and Quality:
•    Ensures patient safety by maintaining a safe environment under the direction of the nurse.
•    Communicates effectively about patient care and needs while on duty.
•    Supports teamwork of the unit in meeting patient needs.
•    Utilizes AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank You) when interacting with a patient or family.
•    Maintains a clean environment in the patient care area.
Service:
•    Supports teamwork of the unit in meeting patient needs.
•    Completes patient rounding in accordance with patient assignments and schedules to drive patient satisfaction and safety.
Growth:
•    Seeks knowledge and opportunities for career development and in support of unit/department growth.
Community:
•    Accepts direction of the supervisor and LPN/RN to perform other duties as assigned and participate in LCMC's community events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•    Required: High school diploma, GED, or completion of a nursing assistant program required. Will consider two years as a certified nursing assistant or patient care tech in lieu of education.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
•    Basic Life Support Health Care Provider - American Heart Association (AHA)
•    Current Certificate in Non-Violent Crisis Prevention - Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) (Required within 6 months of hire into an Emergency Room or Behavioral Health Unit.)
