Patient Care Technician - CPEP
**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Night Shift **Description:** D/E schedule which Includes working a weekend and holiday rotation INITIAL TRAINING IS DURING THE DAY SHIFT **POSITION TITLE: Patient Care** **Technician** **(CPEP)** **MISSION STATEMENT:** We, St Joseph's Health and Trinity Health, serve together in the spirit of the Gospel as a compassionate and transforming healing presence within our communities. **POSITION SUMMARY:** Delivers direct patient care in collaboration with the Registered Nurse. Performs tasks that do not require nursing judgements or administration of medications. Duties include, but not limited to: Phlebotomy and EKG. Will also receive training to work in the in-patient psychiatric ward. Is accountable for the patient care they deliver. Adheres to St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center standards of care and practice. **EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:** High School diploma or equivalent with medical background, mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity preferred. Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise. Completes population specific competency annually on populations served as identified in scope of care and service. **SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:** **Current BLS/CPR certification required** and First Aid training. **WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:** Office/Clinical setting. Exposure class I. **PHYSICAL DEMANDS:** Heavy work: requires standing, lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying Pay Range: $17.25 - $25.00 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
