As a Patient Education Coordinator, you will:
• Demonstrate leadership in assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating patient education to impact the quality of patient education and to positively impact the patient health outcomes
• Identify trends related to patient education, including issues related to the re-admission of patients, through analysis of quality data and other sources of information related to the findings
• Assess and evaluate patient education processes and resources, recommending, updating, and/or other actions as needed to address any identified gaps impacting patient education
• Identify and address the educational needs of patient/family/significant others through collaboration with physicians, nursing, and other disciplines involved in the care of the patient
• Improve quality results by studying, evaluating, and redesigning the patient education process as appropriate
• Select, adapt, and individualize patient education information for the patient/family by evaluating available materials including brochures, printed materials, videos, and external resources considering the patient's age, culture, religious beliefs, and language of the patient/family/significant other as well as on diagnosis, co-morbidities, and risk factors identified
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining professional networks
• Develop, update, or secure educational resources as needed
• Provide education and/or training to staff and other colleagues related to initiatives or program updates and changes, as needed
• Act as a resource to nursing and other professionals related to patient education
Qualifications include:
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN required. Master's in Nursing or other related discipline preferred
• Currently licensed to practice as an RN in the State of Maryland
• Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in acute care nursing required
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Pay Range:
$71,932.12 - $107,889.60In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount or if the position is Per Diem (offering a fixed rate), salary discussions will occur during the screening process.
