Responsible for managing assigned AR and collection of outstanding balances from patients and third parties for durable medical equipment claims. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Review AR reports. + Prioritize work based on age and balance of accounts to avoid timely filing denials. + Review correspondence and EOBS and take appropriate action. + Maintain a follow-up system to assure accounts are brought to conclusion in a timely manner. + Submit appeals and corrected claims as necessary. + Prepare and submit payor projects. + Maintain open communication with patients to keep them informed of any issues with their claims. + Request necessary information from patients and physicians to expedite claim processing. + Negotiate prompt pay discounts. + Request adjustments, transfers and reversals with the proper justification. + Identify accounts that need to be sent to collections in a timely manner. + Communicate payor trends to management. + Working knowledge of DME medical policies. + All other duties as deemed necessary.
