PATIENT FLOW ASSOCIATE
JOB SUMMARY The Patient Flow Associate (PFA) serves as the primary point of contact for patients engaging with the practice. This position coordinates the flow of patients within the practice and ensures we meet the patient’s health care needs. This position works in a Medical Practice assisting the front desk, clinical staff, and providers. The Patient Flow Associate is trained to perform full front desk duties and is initially trained to perform basic patient rooming and room cleaning/stocking duties. Additionally: In the first 12 months of employment the Patient Flow Associate will work with a clinical preceptor to receive training and complete competencies as a Medical Assistant. Clinical competencies will be completed within 12 months, and the employee will be eligible to sit for the Medical Assistant Certification Exam upon successful completion. Once the employee has successfully achieved certification, they will be eligible to step into a Medical Assistant role. This position works clinically under the provider's license. Clinical care is only provided independently following competency assessment and sign-off by a preceptor. The Clinical care provided to patients is within the scope of practice defined for medical assistants and as directed by the provider. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education: + High School or GED required Experience: + Experience in a medical setting is preferred, but not mandatory + Working knowledge of office practice and procedures is a plus + Excellent administrative, management, communication, and interpersonal skills + Ability to relate professionally with employees, and administrators, to develop and maintain positive working relationships + Effective use of telephone skills + Good command of the English language Covenant Health Mission Statement We are a Catholic health ministry, providing healing and care for the whole person, in service to all in our communities.
