Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._ **Responsibilities:** Assesses and develops training plans for the Patient Menu Assistant role. Trains new employees on job responsibilities, department policies and customer/patient service and monitors quality and quantity of work performed in the department. Responsible for trainees job knowledge progression through performance improvement processes requiring extensive knowledge and experience with policies, procedures, and practices of Strong Memorial Hospital and/or within specific division. Responsibilities GENERAL PURPOSE: Assesses and develops training plans for the Patient Menu Assistant role. Trains new employees on job responsibilities, department policies and customer/patient service and monitors quality and quantity of work performed in the department. Responsible for trainees job knowledge progression through performance improvement processes requiring extensive knowledge and experience with policies, procedures, and practices of Strong Memorial Hospital and/or within specific division. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Orients new employees to the patient menu assistant position, reviews work and provides consistent instruction for successfully completing job tasks during training period and beyond as needed. - Assesses training needs and develops training resources for the patient menu assistant position. Assists in maintaining records of trainees' progress. - Interacts with multi-disciplinary staff members on the units to receive valuable input as it relates to further developing staff. Communicates employee and/or process concerns to department management to address. - Reviews patient food allergies and works with unit dietitians to provide further clarity for safe and compliant meal selections for these patients. Reviews meal tickets and provides further training with Patient Menu Assistants when needed. - Visits patients for meal selection and enters compliant selections and preferences in CBORD on units when assigned by supervisor. - Reviews inventory of main tube feed supply. Calculates and stocks tube feeds on units as assigned which requires a candidate be able to walk and stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds. - Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's Degree in a healthcare field required. 6+ months of experience in the Patient Menu Assistant role required or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in food service and/or health care setting preferred.
