Schedule: Full-time Day Shift (Monday-Friday) / No weekends!
The Patient navigator serves as a coordinator of care for patients undergoing surgical procedures and diagnostic testing. They will work closely with providers, and members of the healthcare team utilizing an interdisciplinary approach to care.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
Verify benefits and obtain precertification from insurance companies for surgical procedures and diagnostic testing.
Demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and manage patient care.
Working with patients to schedule and prepare for surgical procedures and testing.
Answering telephone calls and making patient appointments.
Assist team in performing a number of organizational and office tasks.
Serves as a point of contact to help identify gaps in care for all patients.
Accept additional assignments and tasks
Demonstrates ability to work and function independently in a variety of settings
Supports the mission and values of Saint Francis Hospital Core Values
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma Required
Previous hospital or physician practice OB/GYN experience preferred
Medical assistant certification a plus
Experience with EPIC, electronic medical record system
