Per Diem/ Variable Shift 

The Patient Placement Coordinator has the primary responsibility of reviewing and assigning bed placements for patients requiring admission to units within an acute care ministry within Providence Oregon. This includes admissions from emergency departments, direct admissions, future admissions, inter-unit transfers, and surgical placements. Chart review and/or calls to clarify bed criteria will be performed to assure appropriate bed placement. The Patient Placement Coordinator collaborates with nursing, physicians, EVS, transportation, and others to define, reduce and eliminate barriers within the system which may impede patient flow. The Patient Placement Coordinator works diligently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment, provides superior communication, customer service and service recovery, utilizes good judgment and independent thinking that meets or exceeds the expectations of physicians, patients, visitors, and multidisciplinary staff members. The Patient Placement Coordinator has responsibility for excellent communication, bed control assignments, and the coordination of transportation scheduling in an interdisciplinary, professional manner.

Required Qualifications:

Associate's Degree Or equivalent educ/experience 1 year Healthcare experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree In a healthcare field. Bed placement experience. Registrar experience.
