Patient Registration Specialist II

Living by these virtues, we pride ourselves on exceptional service and the highest quality of care. **GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE:** Greets patients and family members, obtains, and verifies demographic, clinical, financial, and insurance information during the (pre)-registration process, accepts point of service payments or provides guidance for payment options, and clears the patient for service delivery. Assist trainer with new staff training, auditing, gathering statistics, ordering materials, and scheduling. Serves as a mentor for new staff, reflecting a positive attitude towards all company policies. **POSITION DETAILS:** This is a **Full-Time role** in th **e Float Pool.** The schedule is mixed between days and nights. Weekend/holiday availability is required **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** : + High school diploma or equivalent required. + Minimum of 6 months of experience as a Patient Access Specialist in the Medical Center.Cross-trained in 3 or more registration areas. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** : + Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. + Excels at all essential functions of the Patient Access Specialist I job description. Cross-trained and is able to work in multiple registration areas. + Assists in training and auditing of other Registrars. Maintains accurate audit records of assigned trainees. + Completes timely insurance verification of required accounts and accurately documents accounts as required by position assignment. + Schedules patient services with patients as required in ancillary departments. + Performs accurate and timely entry of patient charges and daily charge audit activities as defined by work process. + Assists in completing the staff schedules as needed. + Demonstrates excellent knowledge of and complies with regulations for HIPAA, MSP, JCAHO and any other Government regulations required of registration staff. + Works department reports and does timely entry of department benchmarking metrics as defined by supervisor.
