Description Patient Registration Supervisor Location: Long Beach, California Type: Full-Time, On-Site Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated Patient Registration Supervisor to oversee and lead a robust team of 14 direct reports in the patient registration department at a hospital in Long Beach, California. This position is essential for ensuring the delivery of exceptional front-line patient services while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. Responsibilities + Supervision & Leadership: Provide daily leadership and supervision to a team of 14 patient registration staff, including monitoring individual performance, fostering professional growth, and ensuring high-quality service delivery. + Workflow Management: Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the patient registration process, from pre-registration and admission to insurance verification and payment collection. + Training & Development: Develop and implement training programs for staff to ensure they stay current on policies, systems, and procedures. + Compliance: Ensure all registration activities comply with organizational policies, HIPAA regulations, and other applicable laws and guidelines. + Patient-Centered Service: Promote a welcoming environment by ensuring compassionate, empathetic, and timely service to all patients and families. + Problem-Solving: Resolve escalated patient concerns, disputes, or operational challenges promptly and effectively. + Reporting & Metrics: Monitor and analyze KPIs (e.g., registration accuracy, wait times, and staff productivity) and provide regular performance reports to hospital leadership. + Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and patient satisfaction within the registration department. Requirements Qualifications + Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered. + Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in hospital registration, patient access, or a healthcare setting. + Leadership: Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment. + Technical Skills: Familiarity with hospital registration software (e.g., EPIC) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. + Knowledge: Strong understanding of payer contracts, insurance verification, and healthcare billing practices. + Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with an ability to interact professionally with patients, staff, and leadership. + Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to think critically, make decisions under pressure, and bring resolution to complex issues. + Customer Service: Commitment to providing outstanding patient experiences and fostering a culture of care.
