This is a temporary full-time position working M-F, 8am-4:30pm. The start rate for this position is $21 per hour. Weekly earned wage access is an option for this position.
Job Summary: As a Patient Relations Specialist, you will help resolve patient care issues and act as a liaison between the patient and outside agencies. You will report to the Supervisor.
Primary Tasks:
1. Update patient information in database.
2. Contact patient(s) and vendor(s) by phone, email, personal visit, and by other means of communication.
3. Contact health facilities to negotiate medical bills, discuss payment information, and order durable medical equipment.
4. Collaborate with patient and family to identify resources for patients that have minimal or no payer resource.
5. Assist patients navigate Indian Health Services resources.
6. Work with internal and external guests in a professional and courteous manner.
7. Adapt to changing duties, cross train on other roles, and multi-talk with ease.
8. You will perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience with Microsoft Office
Prepared to learn about the HIPAA and Joint Commission standards
Valid driver’s license
