Patient Service Navigator
POSITION PURPOSE The Patient Service Navigator works in conjunction with the providers and clinic staff to take care of the clinic and patients' referral and administrative needs. MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED High School or Equivalent (GED) MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 1 year LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED N/A KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED Possesses a pleasant and professional attitude and appearance. Demonstrate exceptional customer service behavior. Display excellent face-to-face, telephone, and written communication skills. Have comprehensive keyboard skills and computer knowledge. Demonstrate proficiency in multi-tasking, time management, organization, attention to detail, quality, independent problem solving, and critical thinking. Flexible with work schedule, reliable, and a team player. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES Manage/schedules referral appointments for patients at the time of visit for specialists, therapy and diagnostic testing. Provides f/u to patients for referral appointments. Answer multiple phone lines. Process phone calls, mail, emails and fax requests from patients, providers, other departments/clinics, external organizations. Conduct appropriate follow-up with patients via phone or mail. Communicate applicable messages to clinic staff. Register and schedule patients for appointments maximizing the provider's schedule. Verify insurance coverage and obtain appropriate insurance referrals and authorizations. Check in/out patients. Entering and updating patient data into system programs accurately. Collecting, processing, and recording payments. Providing accurate and complete information to the billing office.
