Description We are on the lookout for a Patient Service Representative to join our team in the healthcare industry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a Patient Service Representative, your duties will revolve around providing excellent service to patients, handling incoming calls, and maintaining accurate patient records. You'll also be tasked with dealing with patient inquiries and ensuring the smooth operation of the registration process.
Responsibilities:
• Provide compassionate and empathetic customer service, addressing patients' concerns and inquiries in a timely manner
• Utilize various software, including the Epic System, to collect and input patient information accurately
• Work in a fast-paced environment, often multitasking between different screens and programs
• Assist patients in completing their registration, understanding the complexities of health plans and coverage
• Work closely with both clinical and administrative staff, ensuring seamless communication and operations
• Handle interruptions during the registration process due to emergent clinical care with professionalism and efficiency
• Be prepared to assist patients who may be very ill or worried, offering reassurance and support
• Work in a team environment, contributing to overall goals and objectives
• Participate in training to further knowledge and understanding of the healthcare industry, specifically in relation to patient registration and insurance benefits. Requirements • Ability to proficiently manage and respond to inbound calls from patients.
• Demonstrated experience or capability in obtaining authorizations from insurance companies or similar entities.
• In-depth knowledge of benefit functions, including understanding and explaining patient benefits.
• Proficiency in conducting billing functions, including invoicing, tracking payments, and resolving discrepancies.
• Skill in creating and interpreting charts and graphs for patient data visualization.
• Experience or willingness to learn and use the Epic System for managing patient records and appointments.
• Familiarity with Epic Software or similar healthcare management software is preferred. TalentMatch®
