Damar’s service and support array has expanded over the years, providing a full continuum of care including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) clinics, residential and group home operations for children and adults, intensive behavioral interventions, diagnostic and evaluation services, community-based services for child welfare and juvenile justice involved children and families, and primary and outpatient behavioral healthcare services, serving more than 1,500 individuals each day. Damar has a great opportunity for a Patient Services Coordinator to be part of a multi-disciplinary team, in an integrated care setting that offers complete patient care, and the opportunity to collaborate with psychiatrists, clinicians, physicians, nursing staff, and community health workers. 

 

Where would I be working? The Patient Services Coordinator will work at our outpatient clinic, Damar Health Services, located at 5715 Decatur Blvd, Indianapolis, IN 46241

 

What would I be doing? You will oversee the scheduling and follow-up of medical appointments, coordinate and schedule medical appointments, and perform medical billing and coding. 

 

When would I be working? Monday-Wednesday 8am-5pm, Thursday 8am-6pm, and Friday 8am-4pm (lunch M-F from12p-1pm)

Preparation of information that will be needed for patient visits.When necessary, contacting patients for reminders of information that is required.Confirm patient demographics and update any new or changed information regarding the patient, verify insurance coverage, scan required documents into patient’s chart.Collect Insurance co-payments, collect previous balances.Checking patients in to clinic: includes having patients fill out forms completely, entering all patient information into EMR, and verifying patient insurance.Answering phones to schedule patients, answer patient questions, and send messages to providers.Direct calls as appropriate. Managing and routing incoming faxes and patient emailsProvide multidisciplinary support.

What you need to be considered...

HS Diploma or GED required. 2 years of experience in a medical setting preferred.Minimum age of 21 depending on program and / or department requirements.Must meet and maintain background screening requirements for all Damar Programs as detailed in policy 1.HR.02 Pre-Employment and Employee Background Checks.Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and physical required.

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
