Responsibilities*Advanced MiChart responsibilitiesMaintain responsibility for MiChart gridsTemplate editor, including provider template submission & changesCoordinate faculty schedulesMaintain Resident staffing schedulesMaintain up to date and detailed scheduling requirements for provider templatesMiChart Reporting functions; ability to run MiChart reports and analyze as neededOversee assigned MiChart In-Basket High-functioning scheduler has the ability to make complex scheduling decisions and coordination across departmentsServe as lead for entire clinic to provide room allocation for urgent and routine add on clinicsProvide complex clerical support servicesForms completion including DME, FMLA and disability formsResponding to concerns, questions, and complaints from patientsGeneral Office SupportPrepare and distribute patient education materials and other general office functions i.e. Fax server monitoring, copy and image documents etc. Serve as a mentor for Patient Services Assistants and AssociatesAssist in onboarding new team members, providing resources to facilitate the learning of position.Participate in team/clinical meetingsCross coverage for PS Assistant and Associate roles

 

Required Qualifications*High School Diploma or GED3-4 years of experienceKnowledge of basic medical terminologyPrior experience performing complex schedulingExceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team settingCommunicates effectivelyDemonstrates active listening, written, verbal and information technology skillsAbility to multi-task in a fast paced, multi-disciplinary clinical setting. Demonstrated excellent attendanceExtensive knowledge of Microsoft OutlookExpected to be proficient in identifying problems, seeking and implementing solutions

 

Desired Qualifications*Familiarity with obtaining medical records and professional medical billingPrior authorization experience for healthcare patientsExperience working within a large complex healthcare settingFamiliarity with UMHS electronic medical record systemsKnowledge of UMHS policies and procedures

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
