Maintain responsibility for MiChart grids as directedManage complex billing and referral work queuesTemplate editor, including provider template submission & changesMiChart Reporting functions; ability to run MiChart reports and analyze as neededOversee assigned MiChart In-Basket Same Day / Next Day PagerCoordinate faculty schedulesHelp maintain Resident staffing schedulesHelp maintain up to date and detailed scheduling requirements for provider templatesHigh-functioning scheduler has the ability to make complex scheduling decisions and coordination across departmentsServe as lead for entire clinic to provide room allocation for urgent and routine add on clinicsProvide complex clerical support services
Process Provider time off requests as givenObtaining and tracking pre-appointment records; including but not limited to lab and diagnostic results, appointment clearances, progress notes, etc. Manage clinical databases, if applicableResponding to concerns, questions, and complaints from patientsCross coverage for PS Assistant and Associate roles in all clinicsGeneral Duties/Office Support
Maintain supplies in departmentPrepare and distribute patient education materials and other general office functions i.e. Fax server monitoring, copy and image documents etc. Other general office functionsServe as a mentor for Patient Services Assistants and AssociatesAssist in onboarding new team members, providing resources to facilitate the learning of position.Manage, coordinate, and maintain external relationship with Outreach clinics (non-um clinics), if applicableParticipate and lead in team/clinical huddles and meetingsRequired Qualifications*High School diploma or GED.A minimum of 3 years of previous work experience working with the public.Prior experience performing complex schedulingFamiliarity with obtaining medical records or professional medical billingDemonstrated ability to interact with a diverse populationStrong organizational and prioritization skillsDemonstrated record of excellent attendanceExhibits professional and positive image when interacting with patients, faculty, and staffAble to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment with accuracyDemonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlinesDemonstrated strong problem-solving skillsDemonstrated excellent customer service skills with the publicGeneral office practice experience is requiredDemonstrated excellent verbal and written skillsExceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a teamAbility to communicate effectivelyDemonstrated active listening and information technology skillsDesired Qualifications*EPIC/MiChart experience.Experience working within a large, complex health care setting. Background ScreeningMichigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
