Patient Services Rep Lead Cardiothoracic Surgery

Starting pay is 20.42 per hour or higher depending on years of experience.

Practice and Culture

The PSR Lead position supports the Corewell Health West Cardiothoracic Surgery and Structural Heart office which provides the highest volume of heart and lung surgery in the state of Michigan. This is a bit of a unique position in that half the time the position is a true lead PSR role being responsible for the day to day PSR functions and providing leadership and guidance to the clerical team. The other half of the time is supporting the office from an administrative standpoint this includes calendar management for surgeons, supply ordering, submitting invoices, trouble shooting technology issues on numerous applications, expense reimbursement, and much more. Ideally this person has PSR experience, Epic superuser, proficient in Microsoft applications such as teams, outlook, PowerPoint, word, and excel. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, takes initiative, works well in a team, is organized, and patient oriented. They will be joining a fast paced, high functioning, efficient office.

Job Summary

Organizes and directs day-to-day clerical function in the delivery of quality health care services. Provides leadership and guidance to clerical staff.

Essential Functions

Leads team in workflow processes and may provide input to performance feedback process if/when necessary.

Problem-solves for other Patient Service Representatives and clerical support staff in department/practice.

Serves as main point of contact for Providers in identifying and addressing operational issues.

Oversees and manages productivity, performance and quality metrics.

Possesses the ability to perform the roles of Patient Services Representative, Associate, Intermediate and Senior roles when necessary.

Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.

Qualifications

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent

10 years of relevant experience typically gained through skills/ knowledge / abilities of related experience

Preferred

Associate's Degree
