The **UW Medical Center Montlake- Oto, Head & Neck Clinic** has an outstanding opportunity for a **Day Shift, PATIENT SERVICES SPECIALIST.** **WORK SCHEDULE**

+ Opportunity to provide career growth **DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION** At Otolaryngology Clinic at UW Medical Center our physicians, allergy technician, and clinical audiology staff treat all disorders of the ear, nose and throat (ENT). The Otolaryngology Clinic is a specialty clinic that combines experts from a variety of fields for a comprehensive approach to healthcare. We offer advanced medical and surgical treatment for a wide range of ear, nose and throat, as well as head and neck, sleep and allergy conditions for both adults and children. **RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
+ Responds to patients’ needs and concerns as appropriate. Investigates complaints and works with office Lead, Supervisor or Manager to find solutions
+ Accepts patient payments (co-pays, deposits, etc.)
+ Coordinates and assists in scheduling ancillary appointments and consults
+ Orders, coordinates, and distributes medical records as needed
+ Obtains necessary insurance plan information
+ Maintains ongoing documentation and tracks authorized referrals
+ Reviews the Epic Referral Queue daily for incoming orders and new patient referrals
+ Maintains the physical environment for safety of staff and patients and for aesthetic presentation of the area (for example, organizing the waiting room furniture and magazine area **REQUIREMENTS:**
High School graduation or equivalent AND one year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experience OR equivalent education/experience.
