Patient Sitter - Full Time

**Job Summary**
The Patient Safety Companion is be responsible for observing the assigned patients under the direction of an RN. Demonstrates the ability to provide continuous observation for assigned patient(s) and maintain a safe environment for the patient and others, able to use PPE properly, and be able to carry out infection control practices. Communicates with the RN on all aspects of patient care.
**Essential Functions**
+ Complies with confidentiality of patient information.
+ Complies with corporate and departmental policies and procedures.
+ Maintains infection control precautions as per policy 100% of the time.
+ Uses proper hand washing technique 100% of the time.
+ Safe working knowledge and handling of bio-hazardous waste and chemicals.
+ Completes delegated duties in an appropriate manner.
+ Provides patient privacy, respect, and dignity during care giving.
+ Completes all appropriate activities as directed.
+ Works independently, utilizing time efficiently.
+ Complies with safety policies and procedures.
+ Reports safety hazards and malfunctioning equipment as per policy.
+ Follows the AIDET philosophy of the facility. Completed and signed off competency list per department.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Complies with all policies and standards.
**Qualifications**
+ 0-1 years experience as a patient sitter preferred
**Licenses and Certifications**
+ BCLS - Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire required
