Responsibilities Continuously observes patients' behavior, mental status and activities, notifies RN of any changes or unusual occurrences. Consistently and independently maintains a safe, clean environment for patients. Consistently adheres to established BBMC Close Observation Patient and Suicidal Patient Protocols Consistently and independently documents patient observation data on the Close Observation Supervision Record. Reports maintenance needs. Utilizes universal precautions. Gives accurate report to oncoming shift. Provides patient with explanations as necessary but does not counsel or provide opinions. Escorts patients when leaving the unit for activities and scheduled tests. Demonstrates the ability to set limits for patients and other de-escalation techniques. Qualifications Ability to communicate effectively with patients using a microphone and headset Basic Computer skills.
