Transports patients and equipment throughout the Hospitals and Clinics.
Job Duties Transports patients, belongings and deceased to and from assigned departments.Assists floor staff to ready patients for transport.Transports specific patient related equipment and beds to requesting departments.Utilizes technology system for various equipment deliveries.Enters rental equipment into the appropriate software when needed.Assists with wheelchair management by identifying those for cleaning and repair.Transports wheelchairs to Central Sterile for cleaning and to ISS for repairs.Maintains wheelchair availability in assigned staging locations.Receive assignments by calling into the Transport Tracker XT Program for movement of Patients and Equipment.Properly identifies patient prior to transport and assures that patient has an identification.Assists patients in and out of vehicles and transport equipment.Interacts with patients in a professional manner, avoiding idle conversation that excludes the patient.Collaborates with other healthcare team members to facilitate patient care and services.Maintains eye contact, acknowledges and greets patient, and communicates the transport destination to the patient.Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
