SUMMARY: The transporter safety transports patients of all ages throughout the facility at the direction of the Patient Placement Coordinator (PPC) or Patient Placement Nurse (PPN). SOME SPECIFIC DUTIES + Demonstrates the ability to make decisions appropriate to job responsibilities in a timely manner. + Transports patients to ancillary departments or units as indicated in a safe and expeditious manner. + Responds to patient care requests in a timely manner and/or notifies the charge nurse to follow-up. + Informs PPC or PPN of patient/family concerns and any issues which need attention. + Follow and enforce all hospital policies, including Infection Control and Safety Procedures. + Ensures stretchers have a full tank of oxygen located on them for transport QUALIFICATIONS Required: + High School Diploma or GED. + Must obtain BLS certification within one (1) year of hire and maintain. Preferred: + Experience: Good communication skills and can properly lift/transfer patients.
