Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will be a part of the Infrastructure Division, of the Mid Atlantic Sector and have the opportunity to work on a wide-range of projects involving large interstate pavement design projects, pavement management implementation for cities/counties/states, design review, and design-build projects. Applicants must have prior experience completing the full implementation of pavement management systems for state/local DOTs.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
Developing pavement designs per AASHTO ’93 guidelines, mechanistic empirical methods (AASHTOWare Pavement ME), and applicable design standards for state and local DOTs. Performing and leading engineering design tasks for pavement design projects from preliminary to final design. Developing plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates. Coordinating design activities between staff, subcontractors, and clients. Mentoring and developing new engineers in pavement design and pavement management. Managing day-to-day activities of projects including interagency coordination, technical review, and other related activities. Supporting and performing project management functions to ensure projects meet the defined schedules, cost estimates, and performance/technical measures and specifications. This includes development of Project Management Plans, Scopes of Work, Cost Estimates, and other project management related activities. Writing proposals in response to RFPs for pavement design projects and pavement management implementation projects. Assisting in preparing reports, plans, and studies. Assisting in developing proposals, presentations, and reports. Performing other related duties as assigned.
What your experience looks like
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within 1 year In depth knowledge of AASHTO ’93, AASHTOWare Pavement ME design, and FWD backcalculation required. Knowledge of Elmod, PerRoad, GIS, PAVER preferred. Minimum 4 years of experience. Strong technical design background in pavement design. Experience with VDOT and/or SHA standards and projects. Strong oral and written communications skills Basic knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
The pay range for this role is $80,000 to $130,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
