**This Opportunity**
WSP is looking to add a **Pavement Evaluation Specialist** to our Construction Management team in **Pompano Beach, Florida.**
Summary:
Support the restoration and serviceability of the roadway through analysis of data gathered from existing infrastructure and research of other state pavement initiatives. Services include fact-based analysis and recommendations regarding the current condition of the roadway prior to design so the design team has the information needed to make solid design decisions. Services extend through the pavement design phase to follow up and ensure the design and specifications are sound review comments as needed. The underlying objective is attaining cost-efficient construction cost and costly process that delivers a durable and long-lasting roadway that provides a cost-effective operation and maintenance issues in the future of the roadway.
**Your Impact**
+ Contribute to the development of Pavement Survey Evaluation Reports. Collaborate with the design team and confirm they have the necessary information regarding requisite historical information and current road conditions so the design department can make sound design decisions that support cost-effective construction and cost-effective operations and maintenance.
+ Coordinate field investigations and related activities to support the design process in a timely manner.
+ Review the pavement design reports and design plans through the Electronic Review Comment
+ (ERC) system for accuracy and compliance with FDOT standards, contractor constructability, and cost-saving opportunities.
+ Confirm that the data the SMO collected is applicable to the specific projects by conducting site assessments, including field reviews. Determine whether sections of the roadway are candidates for a five-year resurfacing program.
+ Review and approve Materials consultant invoices for pavement coring tasks and evaluate the consultant’s job performance.
+ Perform pavement warranty reviews on completed projects with pavement installations.
+ Participate in investigations of failing sections of roadways, and development of strategies to prevent reoccurring pavement issues.
**Who You Are**
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
+ 1-3 years of experience on FDOT Construction projects.
+ Experience with Asphalt Production & Placement.
+ CTQP Asphalt Paving Levels 1 & 2 or obtain the qualifications within the first year.
+ Ability to travel with overnight stays at job-related events or project sites.
+ The work schedule is normally daytime M-F but occasionally may require nighttime work and possibly weekends. Overtime is not expected but may be necessary.
+ Knowledge and proficiency with current computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite of apps, SharePoint, and GIS.
+ Knowledge of engineering concepts, terminology, principles and techniques
+ Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing (English) with a project team and in large groups of people.
