Job Description

The role of the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is pivotal, embodying a specialized, field-oriented expertise in the realm of anti-arrhythmia treatments for self-administration outside of the emergency department or hospital setting for patients with acute episodes of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT) and atrial fibrillation (AFib), as well as other episodic cardiovascular conditions.

Adhering rigorously to regulatory and corporate directives, the MSL will adeptly foster and nurture scientific partnerships within the relevant scientific communities. This pivotal role entails engaging with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and healthcare practitioners (HCPs) at local, regional, and national levels.

The Payer MSL is part of a regional therapeutic area Field Based Medicine (FBM) team. The focus of this role is field based scientific exchange (SE), for which the individual will leverage their scientific background, industry knowledge, and business acumen to act as a scientific resource to payers and key opinion leaders while gathering insights that inform Scientific Objectives (SOs) and strategic decision making. Payer MSLs are responsible for establishing, cultivating, and maintaining relationships with KOLs and working closely with the Market Access team to engage payers and KDMs (Key Decision Makers). Further, the Payer MSL functions as part of the account team to provide product and pipeline therapeutic area expertise to KOLs and payers, and as a scientific expert to internal stakeholders within Medicine and Commercial groups. They will play a critical role in the development of scientific resources. The Payer MSL is a collaborative member, who is expected to communicate seamlessly with other members of the field-based organization and perform all activities in a compliant manner. In addition, the Payer MSL may have responsibility to cover select Congresses with the expectations of attending sessions, managing the medical information booth (MIB), hosting debriefs, and providing an executive summary to the appropriate members of the leadership team. The Payer MSL may be responsible for providing internal and external scientific training and include KOL territory management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Function as the EVERSANA Medical Deployment primary point of contact in the field with reporting responsibilities to the Senior Director, Medical Excellence and Field-Based MedicineServe as preceptor to other MSLs and Payer MSLsSupport internal medical affairs initiatives as appropriateThe overarching objective of the Payer MSL is to be in the field conducting scientific exchange with prioritized external customers (KOLs/KDMs/Payers). Therefore, the principal effort of the Payer MSL will be focused on 2 planning, preparing for, and conducting field-based interactions and scientific exchange in support of the Scientific Objectives (SOs)Proactively conduct scientific exchange with KOLs/KDMs/Payers/ Population Based Decision Makers (PBDMs) to support the SOsProvide timely clinical, economic, and scientific product updates proactively or in response to unsolicited requests per standard operating procedure (including Dossier) to formulary decision makers or similar entitiesEstablish and maintain scientific relationships with key external customers, while developing a strong understanding of territory specific healthcare systems and payer practicesAct as a scientific resource to KOLs/KDMs/Payers to reactively answer specific questions on disease state topics and company compounds through scientific exchangeProvide disease state education on topics related to SOs as appropriate Work closely with the Market Access team to serve as a scientific resource at payer accounts and integrated delivery networks when requestedThe Payer MSL collaborates across the organization – in a seamless and efficient and compliant mannerConduct scientific exchange with KOLs to support MSLs, as neededCollaborate with Commercial personnel, as appropriate and in a compliant manner, to provide scientific support for internal and external activities where there is a defined and appropriate scientific role for FBMCollaborate within the FBM Team on all aspects of planning, execution, sharing of best practices, and insight generation related discussion in order to understand the breadth of insights, potential impact, and to stimulate scientific explorationCollaborate with Medical Affairs and other clinical functions, to provide scientific support to current and potential company activities, including, but not limited to, support at Congresses, as neededDevelop a tactical customer-centric medical engagement plan in alignment with managementProvides insights from external customers to ensure strategies and tactics are robust in filling key evidence gaps from a payer perspectiveSupport identification and assist with development of scientific materials and training required to effectively conduct scientific exchangeExecute and document customer interactions in the appropriate systems and tools (e.g., Veeva CRM) in accordance with compliance guidelines. Communicate account and project activities and provide status updates routinely to key internal stakeholdersEnsure FBM policies, procedures, and guidance are adhered to and Perform all Company business in accordance with all regulations (e.g. EEO FDA, OSHA, PDMA, EPA PhRMA, etc.)Incorporate compliance and ethical decision-making into all business practices and seek appropriate advice and counsel on new proposed activitiesDemonstrates high ethical standards and integrity, including demonstrated adherence to all corporate, compliance, and regulatory guidelines and procedures

Qualifications

 MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
