Payroll Accountant
Description We are in search of a Payroll Accountant to join our team in Harbor City, California. In this role, you will be tasked with various responsibilities related to payroll accounting. This role provides an opportunity for a contract to hire employment. Responsibilities: • Utilize accounting software systems to process and manage payroll data accurately. • Assist in the administration and processing of employee timesheets through ADP Workforce Now and other similar platforms. • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions. • Handle inquiries and complaints to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. • Utilize your knowledge of Ceridian and Concur systems to optimize payroll processing. • Use your skills in accrual accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting. • Perform auditing of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations. • Utilize your knowledge of 401k - RRSP Administration to assist employees with their retirement plans. • Stay updated on current regulations and policies related to payroll procedures and ensure the company is compliant. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Payroll Accountant or in a similar role. • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required. • Experience with ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now is a must. • Familiarity with Ceridian and Concur software. • Knowledge of 401k - RRSP Administration and About Time software. • A solid understanding of Accounting Functions and Accrual Accounting. • Previous experience in Auditing is necessary. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field is preferred. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. • Good organizational and time management skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. • Knowledge of current payroll tax requirements and regulations.
