Description We are offering a contract for a Payroll Accountant position in Milpitas, California. As part of our team, you will be expected to carry out a variety of accounting tasks in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include processing payroll, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with tax laws. Responsibilities: • Accurately process bi-monthly and off-cycle payroll operations • Analyze, understand, and review payroll reports for accuracy • Generate monthly journal entries to record payroll and associated transactions in the general ledger • Prepare and calculate accruals for payroll liabilities and related transactions • Manage and calculate monthly benefit, bonus, and PTO accruals • Handle entries related to expense reports reimbursed via payroll • Process and prepare employee stock related entries for RSU, ESPP, and ISO • Ensure timely and accurate 401K and benefit funding transmissions • Carry out monthly reconciliation and analysis of payroll expenses • Review and ensure compliance of payroll processes with labor and tax laws • Develop and maintain internal controls and procedures related to payroll accounting • Collaborate with Human Resources on payroll related audits • Resolve payroll related issues and employee inquiries efficiently • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Payroll Accountant role or similar position • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required • Experience with ADP - Financial Services is essential • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is a must • Working knowledge of Ceridian is beneficial • Ability to handle 401k - RRSP Administration tasks competently • Good understanding of the About Time software • Ability to perform all basic Accounting Functions • Experience with Accrual Accounting is necessary • Auditing skills and experience are advantageous Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
