Payroll Accountant
Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Payroll Processing & Management: + Process bi-weekly payroll via Paycom, ensuring timecards are properly approved and accurate. + Prepare payroll journals for upload to Sage Intacct and ensure accurate and timely recording of payroll transactions. + Oversee timely and accurate preparation of W-2s at the end of each calendar year. + Ensure accurate and timely retirement loan repayments. + Account Reconciliation & Analysis: + Perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and flux analysis for payroll-related accounts. + Reconcile selected balance sheet accounts as assigned. + Grant Accounting Support: + Prepare grant invoices as assigned by the Grants Accounting Manager. + Review and reconcile grants receivables monthly, actively following up on outstanding payments. + Process Improvement & Reporting: + Lead continuous payroll process improvement projects, provide meaningful proposals, and drive implementation. + Prepare the annual retirement contribution list as instructed by the CFO. + Audit & Compliance Support: + Assist with the annual audit and government compliance audits as needed. + System Enhancements: + Support ongoing system enhancements in Sage Intacct. Requirements Qualifications: + BA/BS in Accounting/Finance or related field + Minimum of five years' experience in payroll with some general accounting experience + Strong knowledge of FLSA regulations and payroll-related issues at the federal, state, and local levels + Experience working in a nonprofit or government agency is highly preferred + Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly and positive attitude + Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment + Must be timeline-driven and consistently meet all external and internal financial reporting deadlines + Understanding of US GAAP rules Software Skills: + Paycom and Sage Intacct experience highly desired + Advanced proficiency in MS Excel required Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
