Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Accountant in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This role operates within the financial services industry and focuses on maintaining and processing payroll information for a large workforce. The chosen candidate will be part of a dedicated team and will be expected to handle a variety of responsibilities related to payroll accounting. Responsibilities: • Ensure accurate and efficient processing of payroll using various software like ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, Kronos Timekeeping System, and UKG payroll software. • Oversee the maintenance of comprehensive and accurate payroll records for approximately 1300 employees. • Respond to and resolve any payroll-related inquiries from employees in a timely and detail-oriented manner. • Monitor employee accounts regularly and take necessary actions when discrepancies arise. • Handle accounting functions, including the understanding and application of debits and credits during month-end close. • Administer 401k - RRSP and other related functions. • Manage and calculate commissions as part of the compensation package. • Utilize Microsoft Excel for various payroll and accounting tasks. • Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth operation of all payroll matters. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Payroll Accountant. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. • Experience in 401k - RRSP Administration is necessary. • Solid understanding of accounting functions. • Proven experience dealing with commissions. • Demonstrated proficiency in using UKG Pro software.
