Description We are offering a contract for a Payroll Administrator position in New Brighton, Minnesota. This role is within the service industry and will involve managing all aspects of payroll processing, union reporting, and ensuring payroll tax compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately manage end-to-end payroll processing, which includes data entry, reviewing timesheets, calculating wages, and issuing payments.
• Handle payroll adjustments, deductions, and withholdings efficiently.
• Maintain precise employee payroll records, including salary changes, benefits, and other relevant information.
• Work in collaboration with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll data.
• Compile and prepare reports for union requirements, such as union dues, pension contributions, and other mandated deductions.
• Address payroll-related inquiries or issues in liaison with union representatives.
• Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and union regulations.
• Oversee all aspects of payroll tax compliance, including filing of federal, state, and local payroll tax returns accurately and on time.
• Keep updated with payroll tax laws, regulations, and changes to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
• Reconcile payroll tax accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
• Respond to tax agency inquiries and resolve payroll tax-related issues promptly.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement to streamline payroll procedures and enhance payroll system functionality.
• Work with cross-functional teams to implement payroll-related system upgrades and enhancements.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and adherence to payroll policies and procedures.
• Prepare payroll reports and metrics for management and other stakeholders.
• Analyze payroll data to identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies, providing insights and recommendations for improvement. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a payroll administration role.
• Proficient in payroll software and applications.
• Experience in handling multi-state payroll is mandatory.
• Capability to manage in-house payroll tasks efficiently.
• Background in dealing with union payroll.
• Strong understanding and experience in payroll taxes.
• Proficiency in payroll tax reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong numerical skills and ability to work with complex spreadsheets.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
