Job Description:

At Regions, the Payroll Administrator maintains production records, timesheets, and the payroll system.  Associates at this level focus on resolution of complex problems or transactions, where expertise is required to interpret against payroll laws, policies, guidelines or processes.  This level is considered the procedural expert in payroll administration and completes work with limited to no supervision. 

Primary Responsibilities

Resolves complex problems that require interpretation against payroll laws, policies, guidelines or processesConsults with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) on Workday configurations and tests any new configurationsUnderstands earnings and time off codes and evaluates systems to ensure codes work properlyEvaluates Workday upgrades and works closely with HRIS on implementation and testingUploads and balances bonus and commission payrolls ensuring eligibility and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) lookback for overtimePrepares and uploads Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) filesResponsible for the preparation and processing of biweekly, monthly, and off cycle payrollsPrepares, documents and disburses payroll checks, payroll taxes, wage withholding orders, and volunteer deductions, such as United WayPrepares payroll reports for audit and review purposesComputes withholding, and deductions associated with net earningsAdheres to all internal and external audit standardsMaintains compliance with all payroll regulationsResponds to all legal inquires and subpoenas Submits accurate files to the General LedgerEnsures accuracy of time off balancesCompletes work with a limited to no degree of supervisionLeads the work of others and acts as a resource to less experience associates and internal clients

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay. 

Requirements

High school diploma or GEDSeven (7) years of related experience

Prior experience working with an automated time tracking systemCertified Pay Professional

Skills and Competencies

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive informationAbility to multi-task and prioritize to meet strict deadlinesAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft (MS) Office productsAdvanced knowledge of payroll concepts, practices, and proceduresDetail oriented and organizedExcellent communication and customer service skillsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong understanding of wage and hour laws, as well as federal, state and local tax laws

Payroll tax compliance, Workday and ADP vendor experience preferred.

This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week.  The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations.  Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

$86,760.00 USD
